Game Log 1 – Experience


We were inspired by the local Óbidos myth of the "Porta da Traição", which tells the story of how the Portuguese managed to sneak inside the Moor-occupied town through a small forgotten door at the back of the castle walls. Legend says that when he saw soldiers streaming through the door, the local ruler shouted "Traição, traição!" ("Betrayal, betrayal!"), believing that one of his people had helped the invaders open the door from the inside. From that day forward, that door became know as the "Porta da Traição" ("Door of Betrayal").

We want to retell this myth in the form of a narrative-focused game, which explores the story of the figure who opened the Door of Betrayal and offer a deeper explanation as to how the door got its' name.

Regarding the Ideation Wheel:

- The EU values we are focusing on are Freedom and Human Dignity.
- We're exploring them through an Adventure/Puzzle game
- The game retells Cultural Stories.
- And strives to do this via Remixing Heritage/History.
